Classroom set up Day 1 & 2

First let me apologize for the picture quality, they were taken with my phone.  I also forgot to take pics when I first got there, but I started with an empty room (minus all the furniture of course) ... this is also a new room for me as I am moving from 2nd to 1st grade!!!

A few posters I made, Inspired from Pinterest!

Start Student Poster!

Before pictures, STUFF everywhere!

After Pictures begin ...

Literacy Workstations/ Daily 5 ... We will see how this works out, but I am taking concepts from both books and doing my own things.

Math Stations, can't wait to implement this and STICK with it!

This is where I will store math bins for station work.

Refocus station for when students make poor choices.

AR clip chart to track students points

Writing Center display board.  I LOVE THIS!!!

Word Wall

From behind my desk, this is the first time I actually have a real desk.

Organized!!!

A look at the front of the room.

My where are we at display

Hand signals

This will be my guided reading area/small group.

Work Word Area

That was all done in 1 1/2 days!!!!  I was determined to complete my room, so when I return for the teacher work days I would not be stressing to get my room done.  So I feel very accomplished and now when I get back I can work on my library and other time consuming tasks that await my return.  Now to enjoy one last event before summer is really over ... Myrtle Beach here we come :)

AR Points Clip Chart

I previously made a Safari themed AR point clip chart, but I wanted to share with you how it looks all put together!  Sorry about the quality of the pictures, the lighting was bad and they were taken with my phone...

SO basically what I will do it use clothespins and students will clip depending on how many point they have.

I recently added a puppy and ocean theme clip chart to my TPT store :)

My First Monday Made It!!!!

I have been wanting to link up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics every week since it started ... I would pin my little heart out with tons of ideas, but never got around to making anything ... so finally I got busy yesterday and a little today!!  Here is what I have made so far ...

I'm so excited about the Boggle Game ... I used a cookie sheet from the $ Store, and I think it turned out super cute!!  This was my first time using Mod Podge and I was nervous when I first brushed it on, but It sure did dry clear, thank goodness!

I added the stickers to help spruce it up!!

Cutting out over 100 letters and adding magnets to the back was my least favorite part of this project!

Next up, is the this cool management piece which I saw all over pinterest!  Again so excited about how it turned out!

Objective display! I have the signs on my Teacher's Notebook Store.

I loved this Reading game, and got excited when I found the trays at the $ Store!!!  So I snagged 4 of them, I plan to make 2 fiction like the one you see below, and also 2 nonfiction!  I got the idea from Life In First Grade, check her blog out if you haven't, she has awesome ideas!!

Well thats it for now, I will have a lot more in the coming weeks!!!  Nothing like waiting all summer long to finally get things done :-)

New stuff and some FREEBIES!!

I've been busy this evening making stuff for my classroom ...

I love the Popcorn sight word games and decided to make it myself ... I created 3 different games using the dolche sight words for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade.

I also created a Jungle clip chart for tracking students AR points.  You would assemble it just like you would the behavior chart, but instead your tracking AR points not behavior!

I have been seeing the Boggle bulletin boards everywhere on Pinterest and plan to make one when I get into my classroom!  So here is a link to download the letters!!

Another Pinterest inspired idea ... Create a basket for students to put damaged books in.  They take the book to the "Book Hospital".  Also when you find missing pieces and not sure where they belong have a basket for that as well!  Here are signs to go with your baskets!!!

Hope you're enjoying your summer!!  I go back August 20th, so I am trying to enjoy what is left :)
